Tako Tsubo: le « syndrome des cœurs brisés » se manifeste par une déformation du cœur dû à un trop-plein d’émotion, qu’elle soit une intense tristesse ou une joie sidérante. Ce 2ème album de L’Impératrice est un album de rupture, comme un cœur qui bat très fort mais d’une pulsation discontinue. Une ode en 13 titres à l’amour ambivalent, aux doutes, euphories, chagrins, succès et folie: autant de symptômes qui, réunis, désignent le syndrome de Tako Tsubo. Réalisé par L'Impératrice et Renaud Letang (Feist, Philippe Katerine...) et mixé par Neal Pogue (Tyler The Creator, Outkast, Janelle Monae...).

While the Pantsulla hustler nods to house legends like Jamie Principle and Pal Joey, its hip hop breaks and interludes show a clear affection for Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle. At its slowed down tempo however, this low-fi kwaito masterpiece turns away from its American influence and looks towards Baldelli and his cosmos. Best of all are Sandy’s vocals— deep, melodic Zulu rap, sung flippantly—the way that only a true gangster could. It now stands as one of the finest glimpses of 90s party music to ever be blasted at the underground parties of the South African townships.Remastered and restored from the original cassette tape.
